The NFL thinks that they can continue on with these protests with no consequences. Well, it looks like they might want to stop thinking in that way coming very soon. These players are paid millions of dollars a year and yet, they disrespect the nation by kneeling or sitting during the playing of the anthem. The only reason they are doing anything like this is because it makes people mad.
And Vice President Mike Pence has had enough. For the first time since he has been vice president, Pence attended a Indianapolis Colts’ game. He served as the governor of Indiana until he was selected as vice president. They were playing the San Francisco 49ers.
Some of the players decided to kneel for the anthem like they have in the weeks past. Pence is a patriot and will not stand for this kind of disrespect. Therefore, he walked out on the game. This is what we need more and more fans to do as well. Then maybe they would see what a big mistake they have made.
“I left today’s Colts game because President Trump and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem,” Mike Pence explained. This is what President Trump asked him to do, though he would have done it either way.
This statement came shortly after Pence talked about and gave a statement on the Las Vegas shooting.
“At a time when so many Americans are inspiring our nation with their courage, resolve, and resilience, now, more than ever, we should rally around our flag and everything that unites us.”
Now one of the 49ers players has called out Pence for this being staged.
Eric Reid tried to say that, “this looks like a PR stunt to [me[ … this is what systemic oppression looks like.”
If this is oppression, then the definition has changed quite a bit over the years. This is him trying to stay relevant despite his growing unpopularity. Mike Pence made the right move in leaving the game. This is exactly what everyone should do if they see players kneeling.
